Welcome to the first edition of What’s Happening At Wecon Systems “WHAWS” newsletter for the year 2024.

With 2023 in the books we look back at the year and the challenges and success we went through and how very fortunate we really are. Up until the last couple of weeks our local weather has been quite mild but our normal winter temperatures have now arrived and we need to zip up our winter coats again, the good news is we have finally turned the corner and believe it or not the shortest day of the year has come and gone and it might be hard to tell someday’s but the days are actually getting a little longer already.

As always, from our family to yours please continue to practice diligence, be courteous and kind; and above all else, stay safe.

We remain grateful to our customers for your continued belief and support in our team to make your material handling requirements a reality.

To our partners and suppliers; we know that the struggle is ongoing with supply chain issues and delays. Your continued communications and transparency with our team have allowed Wecon to schedule projects accordingly; providing realistic deadlines and real time updates to our customers.

You can continue to check on our web page www.weconsystems.com to keep updated on how we are navigating the current situations in our industry today.

A Christmas Gathering

Just before the Christmas break our Wecon family was once again able to get together for our annual Christmas celebration meal and wrap up of another successful year of helping our customers improve what it is they do by doing what it is we do. With all the remote work we have been doing it was great to get together with the Best Team Ever! Cheers and let’s have an even better 2024.

Ongoing & Completed Projects

  • We have been working on modifications to a system for a well-known office supply house and expect to complete modifications very soon

  • Reseller activity in Eastern Canada has been very busy with multiple repeat orders we are always happy to accommodate any requests, keep up the great work.

  • A local medical supply house has been upgrading their system with some of our sanitary type equipment, this is an ongoing process and we are happy to be able to consistently supply the exact equipment they need to keep production going.

  • A large multi-national packaging company has had us relocate some equipment from the US to one of their local operations as things are very busy for them here, this was nice to see as far too often we see equipment and operations going the other direction.

  • Our large base of Third Party Logistics providers are as always busy and continue to reach out to us to keep them up and running as well as constantly improving their operations.

  • Integrators have made good use of our Low Profile line of conveyors, these are great units for special applications, keep in mind we have an extensive line of both Low Profile as well as Sanitary conveyors, give us a call to discuss any application you may have.

  • We have started decommissioning and relocating some existing equipment to make room for a new goods to person automated system being installed for a well-known consumer electronics supplier. The new goods to person system should be up and running by mid 2024.

  • A national door manufacturer has taken delivery of the second half of their order and are in the process of completing the automation of their manufacturing cells.

  • We have been awarded more new long term maintenance contracts, this is a new program we are focusing on for 2024, give us a call to talk about your maintenance requirements.

  • A very large apparel company has had us reconfigure their existing layout so they can make room for a new Autonomous Mobile Robot system recently installed as they had to find a way to keep up with increased order volume.

  • We still maintain a large assortment of good quality used equipment available for sale at tremendous savings. Included in this used equipment inventory is a significant amount of used 24″ nominal width line shaft and 30″ nominal width slider bed conveyors. This used equipment is refurbished, providing the customer with a product comparable to new at a fraction of the cost. As well as cost savings, another benefit to incorporating used equipment into your projects is time savings. Most of this used equipment can be supplied much quicker than new due to the ongoing supply-chain delays. Please contact any of our sales professionals for details regarding availability of used equipment, as well as types and sizes.
