A career wraps up

Mr. Dave Stevens

At the end of October one of our veteran Team members will throw in the towel on an almost 22 year career with the Wecon Family!

Mr. Dave Stevens joined us way back in December of 2001 with the original task of helping out with our growing electrical demands. It did not take long to recognize that Dave was able to offer a lot more than that and he took on rolls of design and project management assistance as well.

Dave just kept becoming more and more valuable and for the last number of years has been managing our Design, Estimating and Project management teams. If you have had a system design or even a system proposal Dave would have had his hand in it in some way or another. Dave will be dearly missed in his day to day activities but we will be guaranteed to keep in touch outside of work.

Ongoing & Completed Projects

  • We have kicked off our customized trailer off loading system with a very high profile Canadian retail outlet, these systems streamline the trailer offloading process saving time and keeping the receiving process moving along very nicely.

  • Our team was asked to travel all through BC, Alberta and Ontario making some needed adjustments to some existing pick/pack systems for a fairly large on-line order fulfilment company.

  • We are underway with making use of some excellent in stock equipment here at our facility so we can set up a demo conveyor system which will allow us to invite people interested in our Material Handling equipment over to have an up close look at how we make things work.

  • We have been awarded with an opportunity to supply multiple conveyor units for a garage door manufacturer as there business has greatly picked up, these units all require a special coating treatment to the rollers so as to make sure the product is not marked or damaged during the handling process, this is phase 1 of the project with phase 2 expected early in 2024.

  • An international packaging company reached out to our team with a special request to repurpose some of their existing equipment and add the necessary missing components to supply them with a whole new packaging line, it is now up and running and the cost savings to them was incredible.

  • A national appreal distributor inquired if the current material handling system could be lowered to suit their new operation, we were able to lower the whole system over the course of a single weekend and Monday morning the new process was underway.

  • A very well known clothing distributor was spending far too much money maintaining their existing spiral conveyors and requested an alternative solution, we recommended they upgrade to new units from a different manufacturer and they agreed. Because they had a very busy operation we had to replace all the units outside of normal hours. Once we decommissioned them we had to guarantee that the existing units would be removed the new ones installed, wired and running for the next days operation.

  • One of our American partners recently awarded us with all the necessary hands on work required for a very large implementation here in Ontario.

  • An international pharmaceutical organization requested we supply them with a 3rd phase of new equipment for their operation, this has been a great relationship over the years between ourselves.

  • A plastics manufacturer has requested that out team modify their production lines to handle a new product, this is a repeat request as we did this for them years ago with great success.

  • A major retail distribution center has just ordered new powered flexible roller conveyors, they should be ready in the next few weeks and will allow them to increase their receiving process even more than they are currently doing.

  • Wecon’s fabrication shop continues to remain busy with the production of conveyor systems, specialty handling equipment and customized solutions.

We still maintain a large assortment of good quality used equipment available for sale at tremendous savings. This used equipment is refurbished, providing the customer with a product comparable to new at a fraction of the cost. As well as cost savings, another benefit to incorporating used equipment into your projects is time savings. Most of this used equipment can be supplied much quicker than new due to the ongoing supply-chain delays. Please contact any of our sales professionals for details regarding availability of used equipment, as well as types and sizes.
